"In its current form, mental healthcare in the Netherlands will not meet its residents’ mental health needs in the long term."

About GGZ Discreet

The current system of GP referrals and insurers’ budget caps, which results in waiting times for mental health specialists ranging from two months to two years, is no longer sustainable.

A bottleneck has developed in healthcare. For years, the needs of Dutch businesses and their employees have no longer aligned with what mainstream mental healthcare can offer. If your organisation bears its own risk under the Dutch WGA scheme, rising claims under the WIA occupational disability system are making costs increasingly difficult to manage.

Investing in your employees’ vitality and mental health is essential today, helping your organisation remain financially balanced and continue to grow sustainably.

The woman who brings the GGZ Discreet team together

Sandra Oudenes is the founder of GGZ Discreet. She lives in Laren, is Koos’s partner and is the mother of a girl and two boys (aged 4, 10 and 12).

Authentic, straightforward and positive, Sandra is also hardworking, focused, committed to transformation, a night owl and someone with a sense of humour.

Fifteen years of interim experience in management and executive roles in healthcare, youth care and mental healthcare have given her a clear understanding of the current state of the Dutch mental healthcare sector.

She is a quick thinker who recognises and acts on opportunities in a market open to innovative care concepts. Alongside its three main groups of organisations within the Dutch business community—those focused on vitality, those exposed to critical incidents and those focused on results—GGZ Discreet is holding exploratory discussions with GPs in primary care and potential pilot partners. The aim is to bring about groundbreaking transformation in a mental healthcare system that has become stuck.

At GGZ Discreet, we choose to go against the tide by investing heavily in expertise, quality and experience in primary mental healthcare, with the aim of reducing GP referrals to specialist secondary care.

GGZ Discreet is also bringing partners on board for this secondary care, so clients do not end up on another waiting list when a referral for specialist support is needed.

Head, heart and soul

Sandra knows that things can be different—and how to make that happen. This business concept brings together her head, heart and soul to form GGZ Discreet. Proactively, preventively or shortly after an employee reports sick, GGZ Discreet offers fully anonymous access to a skilled resilience coach registered in the Dutch BIG healthcare register. Our resilience coaches also offer trauma treatment and coaching for addictions.

The focus is on high-quality mental health coaching that strengthens resilience. Our unique ‘match moderator’® is entirely focused on finding the right match between resilience coach and employee, so the benefits of the coaching last.

Our starting point is the wealth of experienced resilience coaches employees can choose from, rather than the scarcity everyone talks about.

We make this possible through employer memberships, turning a wide choice of BIG-registered coaches into a reality rather than a dream.

GGZ Discreet brings together a strong community of innovative mental health professionals registered in the Dutch BIG healthcare register. They are true CHANGEMAKERS who want to transform the current care landscape. Our mission is to help make the Dutch business community mentally healthier and more vital, without waiting lists.

GGZ Discreet aims to make a real impact on the mental healthcare landscape and free up space on mainstream waiting lists, which we believe were originally intended for specialist mental healthcare.

At GGZ Discreet, we do not dream big; we take small steps to reach the place the employee wants to be mentally.
